FEI DEVELOPMENT AWARD WINNERS CONTINUE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
17 Jun 2013 Just two weeks after launching the FEI Awards 2013, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the world governing body of equestrian sport, has already received dozens of nominations. Many of these are for the Development category, which rewards an individual or organisation dedicated to making equestrian sport accessible to a wider public. Past recipients of the FEI Development Award are still enhancing lives through their work with horses. Wellington Riding: Premier League preview
A host of international riders will be gathering at Wellington Riding, Hants this Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 June for the fifth Premier League of the 2013 season. Top FEI judges will be in attendance including Paco Guerra from Spain, FEI Dressage Judge General Stephen Clarke, Jennie Loriston Clarke and David Trott, plus many experienced national judges who will be kept busy with classes running from Young Horses to Grand Prix. Para dressage: Vale View roundup
Central region team the ‘Red Kites’ took this year’s Para Home International title, held at Vale View Equestrian Centre, 1 – 2 June. The weekend was also host to qualifying classes for the KBIS Para Dressage Championship at the National Championships in September 2013. Regional teams consisted of up to four riders, all of whom rode their respective graded test twice; once on Saturday and then again on Sunday. Riders took their best score through to the team results. Brits in France for Compiegne CDI3*
A massive contingent of twenty-one British horse and rider combinations have travelled to northern France for Compiegne CDI3*, CDIJ, CDIP, CDIY this weekend (31 May – 2 Jun). The new partnership of Charlotte Dujardin and Uthopia (pictured) will make their second appearance following a successful competition debut at Saumur CDI earlier this month. CHIO Aachen to Open in Grand Ceremony with Denmark
This year's CHIO partner country is turning the Opening Ceremony of the World Equestrian Festival into a royal affair! Canadian Future Super Star Pia Fortmuller in the Ribbons at CDI3* Radzionkow
Pia Fortmuller of Priddis, AB, currently residing and training in Germany, earned impressive results at the CDI3* Radzionkow, Poland May 3-5. Fortmuller and Orion, her 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding sired by Jazz, took on a highly competitive field in Sunday’s FEI Grand Prix Freestyle where the duo’s impressive performance earned them the second place ribbon with a final score of 71.375%; only one of two 70.0% scores awarded by the judges in that class.
