Only 6 weeks until the 2012 Dressage and Jumping with the Stars
(Equestrian Australia) - The entries have now closed for Dressage and Jumping with the Stars, 2012. Exceptions made to Queensland competitors whose competition circuit has been affected by the floods. There are still places available for the Eddy de Wolff clinic to be held at Werribee Park on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of March. Eddy has had extensive experience in the equestrian world. He has competed in showjumping, eventing and dressage, he did a stint of military service in the Royal Stables, followed by training as a Bereiter and International 4 star judge, he still finds the time to compete and has trained numerous horses to Grand Prix success. 200 Days To Go To London 2012 Paralympics Games
(FEI) - The London 2012 Paralympic Games look set to take Paralympic Equestrian into the history books for many reasons, as we get one step closer on the eve of the 200-day countdown (11 February). Sales of Paralympic Equestrian tickets for London 2012 have already broken records. More than 40,000 tickets were sold before Christmas last year, dramatically overtaking the previous record of 33,000 for the 2008 Paralympic Equestrian events held in Hong Kong. Equestrian Australia Announces Appointments for the Equestrian Australia Board

Twenty-three Nations Qualify for London 2012 Paralympic Games
(FEI) - Para-Dressage riders from 23 nations have qualified to take part in the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The qualification process, which began in October 2010, finished yesterday, 31 January 2012. As the top three ranked teams at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2010, Great Britain, Germany and Denmark will each be represented by a team of four plus one individual rider. Canada, the top ranked nation on the Para-Equestrian Team ranking list for countries not otherwise qualified, will also receive five qualification slots. World Dressage Masters Adds Frankfurt CDI5* to the Circuit
(WDM) - During a press conference following the Grand Prix Special at the 2012 World Dressage Masters Palm Beach on Saturday, January 28th, WDM CEO Anthony Kies announced that the Frankfurt CDI5* will be part of the WDM circuit, beginning December 12th to 16th, 2012. The Frankfurt CDI5* is the only indoor equestrian competition in the world that is held for the benefit of UNICEF. It will also become the only indoor competition in the 2012 WDM Calender which has three outdoor events: Palm Beach (USA), Munich (GER) and Falsterbo (SWE). Sports Forum to Discuss Future of Equestrian Sport
(FEI) - The 2012 Sports Forum, which will be held in Lausanne (SUI) from 30 April to 2 May, offers a unique opportunity to discuss issues related to the future of equestrian sport. The Forum is open to the National Federations and all FEI stakeholders, including members of the media. Delegates will hear detailed presentations on proposed rule changes for Jumping, Eventing, Endurance and Veterinary matters. The Sports Forum will give all stakeholders the opportunity to join the debate and have their say on key issues, before the proposals are put to the vote at the FEI General Assembly in November. Equestrian Australia announces Olympic and Paralympic Shadow Teams

FEI Children’s International Classics Final – Brazil’s Sarah Vasconcellos Earns Two Gold Medals
(FEI by Louise Parkes) - Brazil's Sarah Vasconcellos clinched her second gold medal of the Championships when taking the Individual title on the final day of the FEI Children's International Classics Final in Hong Kong today. Silver went to the host nation's Arianna Ladd, while South Africa's Cameron Dawson was the well-deserved recipient of the bronze. Christopher Schofield Passes Away
(FEI) - Christopher Schofield (GBR), former Chairman of Great Britain’s Young Rider Selectors programme, passed away on 4 January at the age of 90. Many young British Eventing riders enjoyed success during his leadership of the Young Rider Selectors programme, including William Fox-Pitt, Tina Cook and Pippa Funnell. Jane Holderness-Roddam, who secured team gold in Eventing for Great Britain at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, remembers Christopher Schofield as "a truly great character, he was always incredibly enthusiastic and supportive and was always thrilled to hear how the Young Riders were getting on, even in more recent years. Carl Hester Up Two Spots and Laura Bechtolsheimer Down One in Latest World Dressage Rankings
In the latest world individual dressage rankings, Adelinde Cornelissen kept her number one spot with Jerich Parzival. Meanwhile, Carl Hester moved up two spots from number 4 to number 2 with Uthopia, while Laura Bechtolsheimer dropped from second place to third with Mistral Hojris. The highest ranked American pair is Steffen Peters and Ravel at number 16, down one from their previous position at 15th. FEI Signs Off Improved Footing for London 2012 Equestrian Events
(FEI) - The FEI has today given final sign-off on the footing that will be used for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events at Greenwich Park. The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) conducted footing tests at a site near Preston in the north of England on 20 and 21 December 2011. The mix for the footing is now composed of non-waxed sand, felt and fibre. Testing of the new footing concluded on 21 December when international riders Geoff Billington (Jumping) and Richard Davison (Dressage) rode on the surface, which had been laid on the platform structure that will be used at Greenwich Park next year.
