NEDA Announces Scholarship Winners
(NEDA) - Congratulations to the latest recipients of NEDA Scholarships! Three scholarships were awarded in April of 2013. Joy Congdon of Shelburne, VT received a Professional Scholarship to study with Kathy Connelly and Anne Gribbons to confirm the Grand Prix with her mare, Wixen. Nora Batchelder of Williston, FL received a Professional Scholarship to study with Shelly Francis develop grand Prix at the international level. Regina Cristo of Sand Lake, NY received an Amateur Scholarship to study with Tom and Judy Noone to develop a Second Level Freestyle. We wish them the best of luck! Denmark is the Partner Country of CHIO Aachen 2013
Denmark is the official partner country of the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2013 (June 21st-30th). Princess Benedikte of Denmark presented the partnership at a reception in the Danish Embassy in Berlin. “We are happy and proud that our beautiful country is going to be the partner of the world’s largest equestrian sport event,” her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark told the just under 100 guests invited to the Danish Embassy. Dressage4Kids 11th Annual Weekend Educational Program is Being Held this Weekend in Connecticut
The 11th Annual 2013 Weekend Educational Program will be held this weekend, February 9-10, in Woodbury, Conn. at Nonnewaug High School, 5 Minortown Road. There will be lectures on subjects of interest to everyone involved in horses including vet care, stable management, and riding theory, among others. There will be peer roundtable discussions for parents, professionals, and youth heading toward the North American Junior/Young Rider Dressage and Eventing Championships. There will be a meeting for the Region 8 and Area 1 potential Dressage and Eventing team members to discuss planning, fundraising, coaching, and transportation to NAJYRC. Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Training Session at Shannondale Farm Wraps-Up after Two Informative Days
(USEF) - The first Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Training Session of 2013 wrapped up Sunday at Shannondale Farm in Alpharetta, Georgia. A diverse group of young dressage horses, representing a multitude of breeds and varied levels of experience, were selected for the training session with USEF Young Horse Dressage Coach Scott Hassler. Hassler commented, “We had another very successful training session in this area. It is always encouraging to see the number of interested breeders, owners and young horse trainers who choose to audit these sessions. It provides the setting to have great discussions. Sonia Zugel and Ungaro Triumphant Once More at Wellington Dressage CDI-W presented by The Dutta Corp.
(Jennifer Wood Media) - The Wellington Dressage CDI-W presented by The Dutta Corp. at the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) drew to a close today. The featured class was the FEI Intermediare Freestyle. First place in the $6,000 FEI Intermediare Freestyle went to Sonia Zugel (IRL) riding her mount Ungaro (Weltmeyer II x Wendekreis). The pair were successful in yesterday's $5,000 FEI Intermediare I and Friday's $3,000 FEI Prix St. George. Today's judges were Wojek Markowski (POL) at H, Jennie Loriston-Clarke (GBR) at C, and Anne Gribbons (USA) at B. USEF Names Search Committee to Find Technical Advisor/Chef d’Equipe for the U.S. Dressage Team
(USEF) - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has taken the initial steps in hiring the next Technical Advisor/Chef d’Equipe for the U.S. Dressage Team. A six member Search Committee, approved by USEF CEO John Long, has been formed to assist in the hiring process. David Marcus and Chrevi’s Capital Victorious Again at Wellington Dressage CDI-W presented by The Dutta Corp.
(Jennifer Wood Media) - The 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) continued today at The Stadium for the Wellington Dressage CDI-W presented by The Dutta Corp. Under the lights, the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle dazzled with international riders going for the win. For the second day in a row, the top two spots were held by the same rider/horse combinations. The blue ribbon went to David Marcus (CAN) riding Chrevi's Capital (Chrevi's Lavallo x Weinberg) with a score of 74.450%. US Dressage Finals Management Team Announced
(USEF) - The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Executive Board has selected the management team, for the upcoming, inaugural US Dressage Finals presented by Adequan®, to be held November 7-10, 2013, at the Kentucky Horse Park. USDF has named Lloyd Landkamer, of Hamel, MN, as Competition Manager, Debra Reinhardt, of Southbury, CT, as Event Coordinator, Kevin Bradbury, of Dexter, MI, as IT Coordinator, and Monica Fitzgerald, of Maggie Valley, NC, as Secretary, with the Grounds and Facilities Manager to be named at a later date. (USEF) - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to release the schedules for the 2013 Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Training and Observation Sessions and 2013 USEF Youth Dressage Observation Sessions. Both the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Program and USEF Youth Dressage Program are vital in creating a pipeline for future U.S. combinations to compete on the international stage.
