USET Foundation Hosts Jonathan Wentz Memorial Challenge Reception at USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship

Gladstone, NJ – June 5, 2014 – Last night, the United States Equestrian Team Foundation hosted the Jonathan Wentz Memorial Challenge Reception, generously sponsored by Mission Control, at their Hamilton Farm headquarters. The event followed the second day of competition during the 2014 USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship. Riders, trainers and owners were invited to a beautiful cocktail reception.

The event was held to recognize the competitors showing during the 2014 USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship and raise awareness for The Jonathan Wentz Memorial Challenge for High Performance Para Dressage, made possible through the generosity of Margaret H. Duprey and The Barnfield Foundation. The goal of the initiative is to raise $800,000 for the High Performance Para Dressage programs. Jenkins, USET Foundation Executive Director thanked Margaret Duprey and The Barnfield Foundation, as well as the early and generous supporters who have stepped up and met the Challenge; Cauleen Glass, Becky Reno and Ed Peavey, Nancy and Bob Peavey, Heather Blitz, and Sarah and Nicolas Armentrout.

“The reception was wonderful,” said Duprey. “I spoke about why I did this and my involvement with Rebecca Hart. It all started in 2008 when I helped her get to the Paralympics. Every time I talked to her, I asked her if she applied for grant money, and unfortunately there were not any grant funds available.
