Recognizing her outstanding performance at the CDI 3* Ottawa Dressage Festival, Equestrian Canada (EC) has named Christilot Boylen of Loretto, ON the Red Scarf Equestrian Dressage Athlete of the Month for May.

The six-time Olympian made her mark in the small tour during the Ottawa Dressage Festival, earning impressive personal best scores aboard Rockylane (Rock Forever x Rica), her 10-year-old Westphalian mare.

“I have been developing Rocky over the last year and the Ottawa CDI competition was a milestone in her career,” noted Boylen. “She was able to show a small bit of her enormous talent. I just enjoy her every day and am grateful for the opportunity to develop her.”

Boylen and Rockylane took second place in the Prix St. Georges on a score of 70.746% on May 19 before moving on to claim back-to-back wins in the Intermediate I (72.632%) on May 20 and Intermediate I Freestyle (77.000%) on May 21.

Without their support, a rider alone cannot shine,” Boylen explained. “In my case I must thank my daughter Billie, who has been taking care of Rocky, Deer Ridge Equestrian for providing me with amazing training facilities, and all the dedicated professionals who do a fantastic job in helping us to move forward. I also worked with Equestrian Canada’s Jessica Dilliott in Ottawa, which was a great addition to my normal routine.”

Red Scarf Equestrian is the sponsor of the Dressage Athlete of the Month. Red Scarf Equestrian will be providing Boylen with a generous gift certificate that can be used towards the purchase of elegant equestrian luggage, travel bags and accessories that are all made in Canada.
