Madrid Horse Week 2016: Rikke Svane and Finckenstein TSF Top CDI4* Grand Prix

Madrid Horse Week 2016 saw three top European combinations battling it out for top placings in the CDI4* Grand Prix, with Denmark’s Rikke Svane from Denmark and the 14-year-old stallion Finckenstein TSF taking top honors.  The pair finished on a score of of 72.920, with Isabelle Steidle of Germany and Long Drink in second with a 70.900 and Beatriz Ferrer-Salat of Spain and Sir Radjah in third with 70.400.

Svane is based in Luxembourg and came to Madrid’s 2016 Horse Week with her trainer Sascha Schulz, who finished fourth in today’s Grand Prix with Luizao.  For both Schulz and Svane this was their first every competition in Spain, and both were very satisfied with Rikke’s accurate ride today.  Following the Grand Prix Freestyle on Sunday, the duo will finish a successful 2016 season with a CDI in Salzburg, Austria in two weeks.

The CDI4* Grand Prix, presented by ABC, was the first of two dressage competitions during Madrid Horse Week 2016 and had 12 starters with riders from Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Spain.  Tomorrow the riders will present their Grand Prix Freestyle to music starting at 5:20pm.
